As is already the case for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and was teased by Insomniac Games earlier in the week, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered now includes a Performance Ray Tracing option, which allows you to enjoy the game at 60 frames-per-second with ray tracing enabled. Overall, this lowers the base resolution, but fuses the title's two graphical options to provide a "best of both worlds".
The patch is a pretty small one so won't eat into your data cap at all. We just had a swing around in the Turf Wars DLC add-on and it all looks great, so we're looking forward to wrapping up our adventures in the City That Never Sleeps.

incredible work!
I’m glad I saved my new game+ playthrough. I’ll give this a try tomorrow. 60 fps in Miles Morales was incredible.
Excellent! Well done, Smithers!
Meanwhile on Cyberpunk 2077....
I couldn't care less about 4k but if they can get 1080p, ray tracing and 60fps then it's a win from me.
@Nepp67 its higher than 1080p so your wish has come true
@vapidwolf The people that need to calm down are the hate brigade for this game, I'm just saying how I can't even go on a story about a completely different game without getting bombarded with hate on Cyberpunk.
It's insane how this site seems to be all together in a fight against CDPR and Cyberpunk, for what? Because it was hyped and isn't a first party Sony title? CDPR are doing all they can with this game to fix it, doesn't excuse the state it released in, but the hate is getting childish.
@WallyWest Meanwhile, that game was already 60fps on PS5?
@Orpheus79V The hate brigade for this game get more desperate and childish with each passing day.
Nice, I heard the resolutions is mostly 1440p, I definitely play in this mode when I have ps5 😃
@DonJorginho Perhaps because it was released in such a bad state that Sony is issuing refunds. It shouldn’t have released. Nothing to do with who. The who is advantageous if anything. I r been hearing from multiple sources it’s badly optimized on PC too.
I will now platinum this game a second time, after doing it on PS4 back in 2018
@Jaz007 And Spider-Man Remastered launched in a state where it would permanently brick and break your PS5, didn't see a barrage of hate for that on here. I wonder why...
@DonJorginho There’s been loads of people on here complaining about the Spider-Man crashes. There’s a post every couple of days on the forums.
@nessisonett There's a difference between bringing up valid issues on a game and aimlessly hating on it like the majority do here.
@DonJorginho ....have you not been paying attention to the numerous articles across many sites documenting the well known issues with Cyberpunk? That’s just as valid an issue as the Spider-Man crashes.
Performance RT mode is amazing, I hope this will set a precedent for all the next gen game publishers going forward.
@nessisonett you seem to forget my point, I'm talking about the way almost this entire site hates on Cyberpunk for it's glitches, yet still loves Insomniac and Spider-Man Remastered/Miles when both titles were literally bricking PS5s on launch.
There's only one difference between the two developers...
This is really cool. I will grab this again when i get a ps5... Eventually. Got the plat on this and Miles on ps4, even with my short attention span.
And Cyberpunk.... Lets keep that for the Cyberpunk threads, shall we?
If Insomniac could patch out the hard crashes from Miles Morales next, that would be ace! Waiting for further stability patches before i start this remastered version, or play new game + on Miles. Appreciate people's mileage varies, but Miles hard crashed my PS5 10 times during my run through
So dynamic 4k / 60fps (with RT) is the perfect mode. I wonder why it wasnt the only mode to start with.
🤷♂️
Insomniac are really the top studio atm
@JJ2
Because there are a lot of 'gamers' that only scream "No 4k@60 FPS with Ray-tracing on next gen?????" without any understanding what they're talking about. This probably forces developers into ticking off certain graphic modes at launch to prevent misplaced outrage.
Honestly 4K is overrated. It's great HDR, and 60fps/120fps and RT that really stands out. I don't think games look much different in 4K. A good middle ground is 1440
@DonJorginho hate brigade? 😂 Are you on their payroll? If not then this is a strange hill young chosen to die on. CDPR won't even know you're name after all your valiant fighting on their behalf.
@oldschool1987 Pipe down, happily look through my post history and you'll find plenty of me criticising them, the fact that you're labelling anyone that isn't hating on CDPR or the game as someone on their payroll literally proves my point so I thank you!
I'm on no-ones payroll and believe me CDPR have messed up with the base last gen console ports and with their shady marketing around it, I'm just saying how every single post on here, regardless of what it's about, always contains hateful comments towards CDPR and the game, it's very childish.
Nice work by insomniac it looks and plays great now.
@DonJorginho pipe down? 😂 Cry more, blind fanboy.
You're the one labelling people 🤡 and no, I don't care if people love their game, I hope they enjoy it. But you're the one telling people they shouldn't criticise, so thanks for proving my point CDPR rep.
Every single comment? You're going to have to back that up. I see many people saying they're still happy with the game. Imagine thinking people can't criticise a messy launch. Unreal.
@oldschool1987 Keep labelling people mate, you're going to have to back that up, look through my post history then get back to me bud.
@DonJorginho the absolute irony 😂
Unfortunately I can’t play it in this mode. I tried to download the patch and got the dreaded -8 code repeatedly. The only fix I’ve found is to reinstall the game. Considering my relatively slow connection, screw that. 1.004 (which is the version released last week) is stable enough for me to finish the game. I’m not downloading 55 gigs again for this.
@DonJorginho Your avatar is really annoying. Please make it stop
@DonJorginho I've been a fan of CDPR before they even released a single console game, i was hyped for Cyberpunk when it was a name and flashy CGI trailer. I went into the game wanting to love it but right now its terrible on base PS4 and should have never been released on it, i expected bugs and performance issues but no where near to this extent and CDPR have lost all respect considering they purposely hid how bad it was on base consoles prior to release as well banning reviewers from sharing footage until launch. They may well sort it out but that's no defence especially when CDPR like to act so holy and better then anyone else, come on even Valhalla and Legion from Ubi had a better launch state then this.
I did my second (and final) NG+ in this mode. Glorious.
I am not bothered now really I am about 70% into Spider-Man and even without all these updates it's an AMAZING game Playing the PS4 version on my PS5 so I think that version is 60FPS??? Not sure and to me a good game is a good game even without all this Tech stuff everyone is obsessed about Saying that I bet it looks LUSH the remastered version. Oh well.
@Rob_230 - i played miles morales for 25 hours without a single hard crash — i did have one instance where it seemed to bug out, when i was in the map.. i couldn't get back out of it, and had to manually restart, was the only issue i had. i never suspended the game though and always properly closed it after a session.
@leucocyte Yeah its bizarre how everyone's mileage varies. I also never suspended and always closed out properly, but it happened a number of times. Always in cutscenes. It forced a hard reset of system which then threw up the 'you have not closed down your system properly. Performing database reboot' messages at me. Very annoying!
I had a situation where spidey went crazy and started running non-stop into a wall. I blame that one on dualsense having a low battery though!
It's not happened to me with Astrobot or demons souls yet. Touch wood its a software thing and not a hardware issue
@DonJorginho nice spinning disc avatar. Cyberpunk is perfect on PS4.
